Stay safe in the sun!
21.07.2010
Teens often spend their summer holidays doing fun things like hiking, cycling and swimming. It’s great to spend time outdoors but not so great to get burnt by the sun.
Sunburn can make you feel sick now and can even give you skin cancer later. Here are our top tips for protecting yourself from the sun this summer:
- Try not to be in the sun in the afternoon, when the sun is most powerful.
- Stay in the shade whenever you can.
- Wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15.
- Put on sunscreen every two hours, even on cloudy days.
- Put on sunscreen after you’ve been in the water.
- Wear a hat with a wide brim and sunglasses that block sun rays.
- Wear light loose clothes that cover your body, like tops with long sleeves and long trousers.
- Drink lots of water.
