Three teens are in trouble for Facebook bullying
Three US teens could go to jail for bullying a kid on Facebook. The police have charged the three 14-year-old boys with identity theft because they made a page on the social networking site pretending they were another boy in their class. They then used the page to say strange things so other kids at school would bully him.
The teens all come from Newburyport in the US state of Massachusetts. Police lieutenant Mark Murray of the Newburyport Police Department, says they had decided to bully the boy because they said he wasn’t very smart. “They said they found him to be an outcast. They thought he was different and that it would be funny,” he says.
Earlier this year a 15-year-old girl from Massachusetts killed herself after three girls used Facebook to bully her. “It’s something we don’t take lightly," says Lieutenant Murray. "We need to send a message."
