Three out of four teen girls are happy with their bodies
11.03.2010
Three out of four teen girls are happy with their bodies. And they think most fashion models are too thin. That’s what researchers with the Girl Scouts of America found when they asked more than 1,000 girls aged 13 to 17 how they feel about their bodies.
When asked what they think about the body of a typical fashion model, 65% of the girls said it was too skinny, 63% said it was unrealistic, 47% said it was unhealthy and 28% said it looked sick. And more than eight in ten girls said that the people in their family influence how they feel about their bodies more than anybody else does.
