Texting until it hurts
25.07.2009
Sending text messages can be a lot of fun – and a great way to keep in touch with your friends. But CNN reports that some teens are taking it too far. Thirteen-year-old Bailey Baker from Texas went to her doctor when she started having numbness in her thumbs and pain in her neck and back. The doctor examined her and asked a few questions. When Bailey admitted to sending 8,000 text messages in the last month, the doctor diagnosed her with “Texting Teen Tendinitis”. Bailey had been spending hours a day sending text messages, giving her thumbs much too much work! Her back pain was caused by poor posture. The doctor’s advice? Sit up straight! And try to keep those texts limited to about 50 a day.
