Teen writes book about grief
25.08.2010
A teenager who lost his mother has written a book to help other teenscope with grief. Jerome Biroo, 16, from Ontario in Canada, was ten when his mother died of cancer. He says it took five years for him to accept that she was gone. “After she died, I ran from the problem,” says Jerome. “I tried to block it out. It was very difficult to talk about it with anyone.”
Jerome spent five months writing his book, Chances: A Teen Reshapes His Life After the Death of a Parent, which will be in shops in September. “I wanted to make something good come out of my experience," says Jerome. "I hope sharing my experience will make a big difference for other teens.”
