Teen saves bus full of pupils
22.12.2011
A teen stopped a bus full of pupils from crashing after the driver fell asleep. Emmanuel Williams, 17, from Tacoma in Washington, was on a school bus with about 24 other pupils from Mount Tahoma High School when he noticed the 65-year-old driver falling asleep.
"I was looking at him the whole time because I didn't know what was going on," says Emmanuel. "I was looking at him and his eyes would close. And when we would get to a turn, he would open them up, look both ways and start driving and then they would close more and more."
A video on the bus recorded the driver falling asleep on the freeway and Emmanuel running up to him and talking to him to keep him awake. “If I didn't get up, I know there would have been a big huge thing going on because he would have crashed.” School officials are now investigating what happened.
