Some US teens want to have babies
Four in ten US teens aged 15 and older have had sex. And many of them would like to have a baby. That’s the shocking finding of a new report by researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The researchers asked almost 3,000 teens about their sex lives. They found that 40% of them have had sex at least once and around 80% of them used contraception the first time they had sex. However 14% of girls and 18% of boys who've had sex said they would be pleased if they or their partner became pregnant.
Experts say this finding is very worrying. Health educator Kimberly Spector told reporters, “Teenagers need to know that having babies is not just about cuteness and love but also about dirty diapers, sleepless nights, high costs and often emotional exhaustion."
