A Batman comic sells for more than $1 million
18.03.2010
Batman is worth more than Superman. The auction web site ComicConnect.com said they broke a world record last month when they sold the most expensive comic ever – an original Superman comic for $1 million. Three days later, an auction house called Heritage in Dallas, in the US state of Texas, sold an original Batman comic for $1.075 million.
Barry Sandoval from Heritage told reporters, “It blew away all of our expectations. We can really say that Batman has nosed out Superman, at least for now.” The Batman comic was called Detective Comic No 27, was first sold in 1939 and was the first comic Batman was ever in. The seller had bought it in the 1960s for just $100.
