Teenager becomes the world’s shortest man
The world’s shortest teenager has just become the world’s shortest man.
Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal got his new title when he turned 18 last week. He is 67.08 centimetres and about 6 kilogrammes – which is more than two centimetres shorter and four kilogrammes lighter than his predecessor, 24-year-old Edward Niño Hernández from Colombia.
Officials from the Guinness World Records travelled to Khagendra's home city of Pokhara to give him his official world record certificate at his birthday party. The teenager told the BBC, "I don't consider myself to be a small man. I'm a big man. I hope that having this title will allow me to prove this and get a proper house for me and my family."
Khagendra is also trying to be recognized as the world’s lightest man and the man with the smallest hands and feet. Watch a video of him at his birthday party:
