Samoans drive from right to left
It's something no country has done for around 40 years. On 7th September, drivers in Samoa had to change sides - from the right side of the road to the left!
This change may sound unusual, but it is designed to help the small country in the South Pacific save money! If everything goes to plan, it will allow cheaper vehicles to be imported from Australia and Japan - where cars drive on the left too, and therefore have the steering wheel on the right.
However, many people think the idea is crazy and totally confusing for drivers. "Cars are going to crash, people are going to die - not to mention the huge expense to our country," says lawyer Tole'afoa Solomona Toa'iloa. Preparations for the move may cost the government $300 million, and bus owners will have to buy new buses. After all, now their doors are on the wrong side!
