Teen fired on Facebook
A British teen has been fired on Facebook. Chelsea Taylor, 16, worked at a shop called Cookie in Greater Manchester in England. She lost £10 while buying biscuits for the shop and offered to repay the money. But the next time she looked at her Facebook page, she found out she’d lost her job.
Chelsea’s boss, Elaine Sutton, put this message on Chelsea's page: “Sorry to send you a message like this but I’ve been trying to ring you. I had to tell the owner about you losing that tenner… She wasn't very pleased at all and despite me trying to persuade her otherwise, she said I have to let you go. I'm really sorry."
Chelsea’s mother, Nicole, told the British newspaper The Daily Mail she is very unhappy about what happened. “What sort of message does firing someone over Facebook send to young people who are hoping to find work?” she said.
