Thousands take off their clothes for art
28.03.2010
Most people would find it really embarrassing to take their clothes off in public. But that didn't stop more than 5,000 people taking their clothes off outside the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, so that US artist Spencer Tunick could photograph them. The project was part of a gay event called the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which happened in late February.
Spencer Tunick is famous for taking photographs of big crowds of naked people in public places. He told reporters the event in Sydney had a very special message. "Gay men and women lay naked next to straight people and this gave a very strong message to the world that Australians embrace a free and equal society," he said.
