Peter Jackson is a knight in New Zealand
18.02.2010
“I spent weekends making war movies in my parents' garden.”
Peter Jackson, film director
Peter Jackson has come a long way since he grew up making films in his parents' garden. The film director from New Zealand has worked on some of the biggest films of the last ten years, including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which won 17 Academy Awards.
At the beginning of this year, Peter got a New Zealand Order of Merit, which means he is now a knight in his home country. He told reporters, "One of the best things about growing up in New Zealand is that if you are ready to work hard and have faith in yourself, truly anything is possible."
Peter’s new film, The Lovely Bones, is about a young girl who is murdered and comes back to watch over her family. It is in European cinemas in February.
