Oscar hopes for Carey Mulligan
“There's nothing particularly interesting to you about your own face.”

Film critics think British actress Carey Mulligan will get a Best Actress Oscar nomination for playing a London schoolgirl in the new British film An Education. But Carey, 24, says she can’t understand why they like her so much. She told the UK news agency Reuters that she didn’t like the film when she first saw it. "The first time I watched it I was really upset because I thought it was really boring," she says. In An Education Carey plays a 16-year-old girl who forgets her dream of going to Oxford University after she falls in love with a man twice her age. The film is in British cinemas now and will be in European cinemas in February.
