Singer Wyclef Jean isn't allowed to become Haiti's next president
because he lives in the US. Officials in Haiti say that one of their rules is that all presidential candidates must have lived in Haiti for the last five years. Wyclef has lived in the US since he was nine.
Wyclef has told reporters he’s fighting the decision. But officials say there’s nothing he can do. Samuel Pierre is on Haiti’s electoral council. He says, “There is absolutely no possibility for Wyclef to be added to the list of presidential candidates. It’s over.”
The people of Haiti are still recovering from an earthquake in January that killed about 230,000 people and destroyed more than a million homes. They will elect their new president in November.

this is very bad news, because haiti need realy a president like wyclef.
in a few years i hope that he can be the new president of haiti!
