“Guess Things Happen” by Johnny Cash has become the ten billionth song sold on the online shop iTunes. iTunes started selling music in 2003. Now it allows people to buy and download songs, films, TV shows and music videos.
iTunes gave the customer who bought the ten billionth song a $10,000 iTunes gift card and an iPod Nano. The customer is Louis Sulcer, a grandfather of nine from Woodstock in the US state of Georgia. He told the US music magazine Rolling Stones he decided to buy the Johnny Cash song for his son after listening to a 30-second preview of it. "I really liked it. It had some really good picking in it."
The most downloaded song ever on iTunes is “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyes Peas. The 25 most downloaded songs were almost all released in the last five years and include hits by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Coldplay and Leona Lewis.
