Saw is world’s top horror series
29.07.2010
Saw is the most successful horror series of all time. The Guinness Book of World Records says the series has made more money than better known series like Friday the 13th and Halloween.
The Saw series is about a killer called Jigsaw who makes his victims play games to test how much they want to live. It has made more than $700 million since it started in 2004, almost twice as much as Halloween has made since it started in 1978. The seventh and last Saw film is coming to cinemas later this year.
The films’ producer Mark Burg told reporters why he and the other filmmakers decided to end the series. “We don't want to be that boxer who fought one too many fights. In every Saw film we left questions open and in the last film we answer every question the audience has ever had."
