London bomb victim families ask cinemas not to show Four Lions
Families of people killed by the 2005 bomb attacks in London are asking cinemas not to show a new comedy about suicide bombing called Four Lions. The families say the film comes too soon after the real-life attacks.
On 7 July 2005 four men detonated bombs on three underground trains and one bus in London, killing themselves and 52 other people. The British film Four Lions is a satire about four men who plan suicide bomb attacks on the London Marathon.
Graham Foulkes lost his 22-year-old son in the 2005 attacks. He told Britain's BBC Radio 5 that the film’s story is too similar to what really happened. “This is not a satire about terrorists. The filmmakers are making money from a specific attack,” he says. However, one of the actors from the film, Arsher Ali, told the BBC the film shows the human side of terrorism.
Here’s a trailer for Four Lions. What do you think?
