Haiti charity album is Number One in the US
An album to raise money for the people of Haiti has gone straight to Number One in the US. The album called Hope for Haiti Now has songs from an international telethon of the same name that raised more than $65 million worldwide. It has 20 songs from big stars, including the charity single “Stranded” by Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono and the Edge.
Hope for Haiti Now is available in digital format only from online shops like iTunes and Amazon. All the money from its sales goes to charities like the Red Cross to help people affected by the huge earthquake that hit Haiti on 12 January. People can also donate directly to the Hope for Haiti website for the next six months.
