Did Katy Perry steal from the Beach Boys?
Katy Perry has denied reports that The Beach Boys are suing her for using one of their lines in her new song, “California Gurls”.
In their 1965 song “California Girls,” the Beach Boys sing, “I wish they all could be California girls”. At the end of Katy’s song, rapper Snoop Dogg says, “I really wish you all could be California gurls.”
The media has been reporting that the band’s record label is suing Katy over her use of the line. But Katy told fans on Twitter last week, “No one is suing anyone. The media just loves to fabricate and exaggerate stories to get hits online or sell papers."
