British singer songwriter Damon Gough, also known as Badly Drawn Boy, isn't famous for bad behaviour. But at a recent gig in the legendary Troubadour Club in Los Angeles, Damon got into a bit of a tizzy. After some technical problems with the sound, Damon became angry with the crowd for talking. "This is the end of the show for me," Damon declared. "You think I enjoy this? Being away from my two kids to do this s**t?" Damon then threw his harmonica on the floor and walked off the stage. When he returned 20 minutes later, half the crowd had left. "Give us our money back!" shouted one audience member. In response, Damon said, "After tonight, I'm never playing live again ... I should just open a shop somewhere."
Later Damon apologized for his outburst and thanked the audience members who stayed to watch the rest of his show. "There is no one more upset by this situation than myself," he wrote in a statement. Damon won the Mercury Prize in 2000 for his debut album The Hour of Bewilderbeast, and wrote the music for the 2002 Hugh Grant film About a Boy.
