Are werewolves the new vampires?

Vampires are so last year! There have been a lot of new films and TV shows about vampires since Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books became so successful. But now werewolves are starting to become popular too. The US music channel MTV is making a TV series based on a popular 1985 film about a teenage werewolf called Teen Wolf. The film, starring Michael J Fox, is about a teenager who finds out that he’s a werewolf but then wants to become normal again. MTV’s senior vice president, Liz Gateley, says the TV show is a bit different to the film. “It has a fresh take. It’s a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the centre.“ It’s probably no coincidence that Twilight’s main character, Bella Swan, becomes friends with a teenage werewolf in the new Twilight film, New Moon. New Moon, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, is coming to cinemas in November.
