Amy Macdonald rocks
The show started with very strong visuals – the first lines of "An Ordinary Life" were projected on the large screen above the stage.
"What makes you different from anyone here?
What makes you stand up in the crowd?"
Then Amy burst into life. The Scottish singer/songwriter played songs from her newest album, A Curious Thing, and some classics from her first album, This Is The Life. She also spoke to the audience a lot. Since she had just received a double platinum disc, she thanked her fans who made it possible, saying, "In Germany this year, there's only one international artist that sold more albums than I have, and that's Lady Gaga. That's pretty good going being second to Lady Gaga!"
She also said she was angry with people who think that "the way someone looks is the most important thing" instead of talent. It was because of this negative obsession with beauty that she wrote the song "This Pretty Face".
Towards the end of the concert, she gave a memorable performance of "Let's Start a Band" and her big hit "Mr. Rock And Roll". When she came back for her last encore she sang an acoustic version of Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run" - an homage to another great rocker.
