Academy Awards say sorry to Farrah Fawcett’s family
22.03.2010
The family of actress Farrah Fawcett are unhappy that the star wasn’t included in this year’s Academy Awards. Farrah, who was best known for acting in the 1970s TV show Charlie’s Angels, died last June. Her family say they were very sad that she wasn’t in a video at the awards that paid tribute to film stars and filmmakers who died in the last year.
Now one of the organizers of the awards, Bruce Davis, says that they didn’t include Farrah in the video because she was better known for working in TV than in film. He apologized to her family, saying, “There's nothing you can say to people, especially to family members, within a day or two of the show that helps at all. They tend to be surprised and hurt and we understand that and we're sorry for it.”
Other stars who died in the last year include Michael Jackson and Brittany Murphy. They were both included in the video.
