A teen’s parents sue Tyra Banks for $3 million
The parents of a teenage girl are suing Tyra Banks for $3 million for interviewing their daughter without their permission.
Tyra is a famous TV host in the US and had a talk show called The Tyra Banks Show for four years. Last year the show's producers flew 15-year-old Jewel Ciera McClendon from her home city of Atlanta in Georgia to New York City so she could be on the show, after she responded to an open call on
the show’s website for sex addicts.
Jewel appeared on an episode about sex addicts and told Tyra that she had sex with more than 20 men and got pregnant three times. Now Jewel’s parents say the interview has attracted attention to their daughter "from sexual deviants, perverts and paedophiles”. They want $3 million and to stop the interview being on TV ever again.
