Katy Perry's ups and downs

A singer who grew up listening to gospel music is now singing about sex and love. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, 24, grew up with Christian pastor parents in Santa Barbara, in the US state of California. She started her career in music when she was a teen and released a gospel album at age 16. Then in 2007 she changed her name to Katy Perry and started singing pop songs. Katy’s first big album is called One of the Boys and “Hot N Cold" is the second single from the album.
