Dr Dre is Eminem's doctor
The man who gave the world Eminem and 50 Cent has made his last album.
US rapper and record producer Dr Dre helped to make popular rap songs with explicit lyrics about life on the street. In 1991, he started a record label called Death Row Records. He signed Eminem and 50 Cent to his label before they were famous and helped to make them big stars.
“I Need a Doctor” is the second single from Dr Dre’s third and last album, Detox.
When I play it for 'em, they just say it's whack
But they don't know what dope is…
It was you who believed in me
When everyone was telling you, don't sign me
Dr Dre was a doctor to rappers like Eminem and 50 Cent. He fixed their careers and made them famous. Eminem is returning the favour now by singing the first two verses of Dr Dre's song. He uses slang words like whack, to mean bad, and dope, to mean good, and thanks Dr Dre for believing in him when nobody else did.
