B.o.B. wants airplanes to turn into shooting stars
Most people know Bobby Ray Simmons as B.o.B. The 21-year-old rapper has been working with big stars and releasing hit songs since he was a teenager. He released his first album, B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, in April. The second single from the album, “Airplanes”, was written by two US students and has verses by rapper Eminem and singer Hayley Williams from Paramore.
“Airplanes” from B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
…
Somebody take me back to the days
Before this was a job, before I got paid
…
And back when I was rappin' for the hell of it
Some people believe in magic and that if you wish on a shooting star, whatever you wish will come true. B.o.B. is rich and famous and flies around the world. But here he is wishing the airplanes in the sky would turn into shooting stars so he could wish himself back in time. He misses his earlier life before he became successful, when he made music for fun and not for money.
