Best of bad English: They voted – and won
The people have spoken ... and chosen their favourite bad English! Back in June, Spot on and our partners lo-net2 asked you to send in funny examples of bad English. And in September, we gave you the chance to choose the best example. Now we have a winner - in fact, we have lots of winners. Your top five examples of bad English are in the December Spot on.
By taking part in the competition, you had the chance to win great prizes! First prize was a trip to Malta with the language-holiday experts carpe diem Sprachreisen. This terrific prize includes the return flight, a week's
accomodation in a host family and 20 English lessons. So congratulations to Julia Lenz, from Eppelborn/Dirmingen. Have a great time in Malta, Julia!
Spot on and Langenscheidt also gave ten other readers the chance to win a copy each of Dankstelle Übelsetzungen and Taschenwörterbuch Englisch.
Here are the ten lucky winners:
Katharina Brack, Kervenheim; Katharina Bräm, Tagelswangen; Stephan Dengler, Leinfelden-Echterdingen; Ricarda Franßen, Berlin; Nadine Gallersdörfer, Gablingen; Ann Kristin Gildhoff, Baiersbronn; Stefanie Klampfleitner, Frasdorf; Myriel Meissner, Innsbruck; Amrei Töwe, Westerrönfeld, Magdalena Winter, Göppingen.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who took part. And don't forget to keep your eyes open for more bad English!
