Tweet, tweet!
09.02.2012
Social networking. You either love it or you hate it, right? Actually I think I love it and hate it. I was on MySpace years ago, then Facebook, and now I’ve joined the other 175 million people on Twitter.
So how does Twitter work? You post messages of up to 140 characters, photos, and links, and can follow your friends and favourite stars to see their posts too.
I love feeling connected to people and coming up with cool, fun, and interesting posts. Whether you’re feeling mad, sad, or on top of the world, it’s nice to have a place to express yourself.
But I hate how addictive Twitter is. I do most of my work on my computer and if I leave Twitter open, I find myself stopping whatever I’m doing every five minutes to check for new tweets. It ends up taking me twice as long to get my work done. Annoying!
I’m not the only one who has fallen in love with Twitter. Between September 2009 and July 2011 the number of tweeting teens has doubled, from 8% to 16%. I just hope these teens are more disciplined than I am. Otherwise, there’s no way they ever get their homework finished!
