For the last couple of years I've been suffering from malapropism! Although it sounds like the name of a horrible disease, it's actually not all that serious. A malapropism is often called a Mondegreen - it's when you misunderstand a common word or phrase, especially the lyrics of a song.
A classic example of a malapropism is "to dance the flamingo" instead of "to dance the flamenco".
Just recently, I have finally figured out what Kate Nash is really singing. In her 2007 song "Foundations", Kate sings "... humiliate me in front of our friends". But I always thought she was singing "... you nearly ate me in front of our friends". I think it's because Kate sings the word "humiliate" so slowly. Listen for yourself and see what you think!
That's not the only malapropism I've had either. Back in the 1990s, a New Zealand band called OMC had their biggest hit "How Bizarre" - the line "How bizarre, how bizarre" is repeated quite often. But even today, whenever that song comes on the radio, I hear them singing "Parmesan, parmesan". Here's the song, which as it happens, is not about Italian cheese.

I've had a malapropism in a German song called "Pflaster" by Ich+Ich. It's also been quite often on the radio that they don't sing "es tobt der Hamster vor meinem Fenster" but "es tobt der Hass da vor meinem Fenster". In my view, this malaropism makes this song sound quite funny! :)
