Outdoor fun in LA
Who wants to sit inside when the sun is shining? Not me! I like to eat outside, play outside and even watch films outside. So it's a good thing I live in Los Angeles. There are free outdoor activities all over the city all summer long. I've been to three different events near my house in the last four days - and am going to another one today.
On Thursday my friends and I went to the Farmer’s Market, where people sell fresh fruit, vegetables and snacks. We ate turkey dogs, which are like hot dogs but made with turkey instead of beef. Then we had funnel cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Funnel cake is made from deep-fried batter and is called "Strauben" in Austria.
That evening we went to an event called Shakespeare in the Park to see a play by William Shakespeare called Twelfth Night. We sat on blankets eating berries. By the end of the play the sky was full of stars. Last night I went to see the film Enchanted on an outdoor screen under a full moon. And today I’m going to a free jazz concert at the park. I’m having so much fun this summer. I wish it would never end!
