MTV awards madness in Berlin
You might have heard this all already, but this time the madness started outside at Berlin's historic Brandenburg Gate. There was a special concert by Irish rock band U2 to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago. It was a free concert but there were only 10,000 tickets. And to keep out the fans who didn't have tickets ... MTV built a two-metre-high wall around the concert!
Obviously that's not such a smart thing to do. And MTV said the wall was for the "safety and security" of the people inside the barrier - could it get more ironic?! U2, who were probably crushed with embarrassment, didn't have anything to say about their brand new Berlin Wall. You've got to love MTV - they really know how to grab the headlines, even when they're not trying to! I can't wait for the next awards show!
