Gaga in meat
Remember when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's speech at MTV's Video Music Awards last year?
Of course, we all do. Well, it was still a hot topic at this year's show. Taylor sang a song about it, to let Kanye know she forgives him. Kanye sang a song about it, calling himself a "scumbag", among other things.
But Lady Gaga made sure that last year's Taylor-and-Kanye incident was not the only topic of conversation. How did she do this? By wearing a meat dress, with meat boots, a meat hat and a meat handbag. What a girl!
The VMA meat dress comes just after she posed for the cover of the Japanese edition of Men's Vogue magazine in a meat bikini.
Now everyone is wondering, what's Gaga's message? Does the meat even have a message? Are you offended by it? I'm not (though maybe I would be if I could smell it), but I can understand that some people would be offended. Is it different from wearing fur or leather? When so many people are hungry on this planet, should a celebrity be wearing a dress that could feed a few families? And is that so different from celebrities who regularly wear dresses that cost enough to feed a few families for a few months? And what about the animals that died to make that dress?
On the other hand it's Gaga – maybe it was only made to look like meat and fool us all.

COMMENTS
It seems we now know what the meat means.
Gaga was protesting the "don't ask, don't tell" law in the US, which says that gay and lesbian members of the US armed services (like the army) can serve, but that they can't let anyone know that they are gay. Congress will be voting this week to decide whether or not to keep this law.
And today Gaga will be leading a rally in my hometown, Portland, Maine, against this law. This article explains why she chose Portland: http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/20/lady.gaga.rally/index.html?h...
