Birthday fun

It’s my birthday on 25 February and I can’t wait for it to come. Birthdays are always fun, especially here in California.  You don’t just get birthday gifts from your family and friends. You also get gifts from companies.

My favourite coffee shop just sent me a coupon so I could get a free drink on my birthday and my favourite beauty salon invited me in to have a free manicure. Last year I had one of my best birthdays ever. I went to Disneyland!

If you go to Disneyland on your birthday, make sure you take your passport with you so you can prove it’s your birthday. Show it to the workers at the entrance for a free ticket, which usually costs around $70, and a birthday badge. I wrote my name on my badge and wore it all day. Everywhere I went, Disney workers said, “Happy Birthday, Talitha”. That was so funny.

If you go to a restaurant here and your friends tell the waitress it’s your birthday, she will bring you a free dessert at the end of the meal. We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills last year and the waitress brought me an ice cream sundae with a candle. Then everyone at the restaurant sang "Happy Birthday". I felt very special ;-).

I haven’t decided what I’m going to do for my birthday this year but I’m sure I’ll have a fun day. Happy birthday to me – and Happy birthday to you, whenever it is!
